Citizenship by Naturalisation Time spent residing in Ireland may entitle you to Irish citizenship. 1) Applications based on residency: If you have been resident in Ireland continuously for the past five years, you may be eligible to apply for Irish citizenship. 2) Applications based on associations: If you have been a resident in Ireland for a number of years and have familial or other connections to Ireland, you may be eligible to apply for naturalisation before five years have elapsed.
